For the momma struggling to get fit…

You don’t have time to work out. You don’t have time to go to the gym. Everyone tells you you’re making excuses, but you have no idea how to make it possible. I get it. I really truly get it.

Between work, kids, cooking, cleaning, shopping, illnesses, sleepless nights, lack of funds, childcare issues.. the list goes on and on.

You have NO extra time to spare. The idea of going to the gym is exciting, but so out of reach. The desire to get in better shape is so strong, but feels impossible.

And you’re tired. Just tired. And the gym is too expensive to pay for every month when you know you will rarely be able to get there.

I get it. I do.

I remember so desperately wanting to get in better shape, that for my birthday one year I asked my husband for a one month membership to a fitness facility. The membership was only so that I could go to 4 classes during that month, but I was SO excited. And you know what? I only made it 3 times that month.

My birthday is right before Christmas, and for Christmas again I wanted another month. Then our tax return came, and I bought a package of 10 classes to use whenever I wanted. Those 10 classes actually lasted me through an entire year. I couldn’t make it to more than 10 classes in an entire YEAR.

I enjoy running, which is free. BUT at the time I had to bring my kids with me… so the weather had to be good, my kids had to be in the mood to ride along in the double jogging stroller, I had to have the energy to run while pushing 80 pounds of children, the stars had to be aligned just right…and that just didn’t happen every week.

Hopeless. I felt COMPLETELY hopeless.

Then one day I saw this random post on Facebook of a girl’s before and after pictures. She had lost 75 pounds, which is nowhere near what I had to lose, but her after picture was amazing. I knew that if she could accomplish what she had accomplished, then I could accomplish what I needed to accomplish.

I JUST needed the HOW.

I saw that she worked full-time and had a sweet little boy at home. I saw that she was using some home workout program I had never heard of before. I saw that she was drinking some stuff that I had never heard of before. I saw that she too was crazy busy, but still managed to transform her health and her life, which is something I had yet to figure out how to do.

So I reached out. I asked about the program she was using. I saw the price and I had sticker shock. But in my hopelessness, I ordered that freaking program. I was 99% sure that I was going to end up sending it back dissatisfied, but that 1%, that SMALL chance that this was my answer, is what got me to submit that order.

My life has not been the same since.

I didn’t know what I was signing up for. I didn’t know there was a support system that came with it. I found help for my health. I found a group of committed, nonjudgmental, super supportive, imperfect, also struggling women just like me who were on fitness journeys to get healthier and help other women along the way.

I became hooked on my new shake after a week of drinking it, and completely forgot about my plans on sending it back. It gave me my breakfast, my vitamins, energy I was lacking from nutrients I was lacking, cut my cravings for junky stuff, and gave me my daily dose of chocolate. 😉 I found myself drinking less than 1/3 of the coffee that I had been drinking daily, completely unintentionally. I just wasn’t craving it as much, and wasn’t crashing with no energy all the time. AND I came to realize that I actually could afford it every month (more about that here).

I wasn’t concerned with my physical appearance. I began to find strength and determination that I had completely lost sight of. Little by little I was feeling stronger, healthier, feeling proud of myself every time that I pushed play, my kids were watching me grow stronger, my mood was changing, I realized that when I was missing my workouts I was much more stressed and down.

And I decided to share that hope.

If you can’t make it to the gym, if you can’t afford monthly fitness classes, you are not alone and there IS hope.

It’s not a pill, it’s not an extra hour on your clock, it’s not an easy way out or a quick fix. Those don’t exist. Muscles don’t happen without work. Cardiovascular health doesn’t happen without work. Weight loss might happen without work, but healthy weight loss doesn’t happen without proper nutrition… and work.

You might not have 20 minutes to drive to the gym + an hour or more to work out + 20 minutes to drive home, and childcare to do all that. But you just might have 25-30 minutes to push play and work out at home while your children play in the other room (or maybe even join you like mine often do).

You might not know how to eat properly and get the nutrition or portions that you need, but all of that is simplified and comes with the programs.

All you have to do it commit to yourself. Commit to trying. Commit to at LEAST giving it 30 days, and if it doesn’t work for you, you get your money back and end up with having had a free month of breakfast. Not a bad deal.

So hopeless momma, reach out if you need help finding your hope for health again. I would LOVE to be your cheerleader as you find your healthier, stronger self.  I’m a work in progress, we all are, it’s just a matter of deciding what kind of progress you want to make. Which direction do you want to go? If you’re looking for a way to improve your health and your life, I would love for us to do it together.

Here is a link to my application for my next fitness challenge – Apply Here. If you’re at all curious, fill it out and we can figure out together if this thing would work for you too. <3

XOXO ~Kristin
